Within the therapy room we often witness how external events can trigger deep rooted anxieties. What is happening within the UK regarding the Brexit debate and now the outcome of the referendum has clearly highlighted the deep divides within the country. The vision held by many that the UK was one large accepting family made up of many nations has been brought sharply into the reality that many do not share this view, bringing up deep feelings of confusion, anger, disappointment and for many rejection and isolation and reigniting old feelings of being an outsider and not belonging.
